Mars

The sunlight grew grim – slowly turning to darkness. Amidst the horizon, a blur governed among the lines of what the eyes could see. A figure appeared at the blending lines of earth and sky. The figure took the visible look of a shadow with characteristics of an animated two-dimensional human. Increasingly coming into focus, enlarging in such short time span, it became clear that the figure was vibrantly moving. Slowly producing visible texture of a metallic material, seared an orange glow from the sun with shades of dark brown. Following dust kept a tail on the humanlike figure from the up-kicking of dirt through seamless running. Without warning, the figure would bursts in stops and gos to change direction in course. A violent stop slid the figure, scrambling dirt and rocks against each other clamoring a screechy halt. As dust flew through the air creating a cloud of brown, a single crackle of a firearm sharply rang. Instantaneously sparking a glow onto the object – providing a glimpse of a rifle’s barrel. Then without a second delay, the figure vanishes with a proceeding silence. The sun declines at the horizon as a siren screams  from afar.

“Who is this you speak of, Casacoth?”

Two men dressed in a clean uniform of the business class resided in a lightly lit room. A modern structured building considered being outdated during the current times of their origins. With their ties and briefcase accompanying them, they took  a polite manner to one another. Caucasian of ethnicity, Casacoth wore a pitch black suit, giving a clear white tone to his skin.  The other man wore a black suit with the inner shirt being white. Having traditional taste, the man wore a badge above his breast lining. Engraved on the glinting sliver metal was his name, Bruce.

“Another official is dead,” Casacoth’s groans out a feared truth.

“Who? Of the Allegiance’s?”

“No, one of ours. The lead in our relationships with the Allegiance.”

“Who did this!?”

“Mars.”

“What? Mars?!” Bruce surprised with widen eyes, “that’s a myth.” Bruce then began to gesture his index finger towards Casacoth in an arrogant manner. “Rumors.  How can you even believe such a fairy tal-”

“Reports.” Casacoth interrupts with a strong tone to his voice. “We have him on camera, Bruce.”

“How do you even know it’s a ‘him,’ Casacoth? So what, you have footage, it does not mean anything.” Bruce settles his voice for a second, murmuring. “Even if he is real, Casacoth, which I seriously doubt. You cannot be telling people around here that this was the act of Mars. With such rumors spurring about, the excitement would be too much.”
