Although the only thing being ‘truely’ 3D is the trunk, since the branches themselves are flat images ‘flowered’ onto the trunk. The quality is what I like – it really reminds me of nowaday games. Espeically the game Half-Life 2 and Red Orchestra, mostly Red Orchestra.
We thought about fully feldge 3D trees, but then you’d have to take in the preformance; considering that they infact take more power than just simple flat images (that look nice). Though — I would like to see 3D trees in few quanities up close with actual 3D branches popping out. Since I like the idea of being able to climb up on trees and use it for any military advantage.
“As there are still the quenches of war, shall His will be brought.”
Wind whistles softly in the blue filled skies covered only in an handful of clouds. Allowing the sun to shine a warmth of comfort onto the land below. Producing glimmer to shallow rivers that flow like veins through the grasslands and into the forest. Vegetation flourshed from the substantial fertility of the ecosystem. Above in its glory, an enormous mountain topple above the dense forest. The mountain wore a belt of fog around its peak, gratifiying its significant size. From the painting of a flourishing land, a distant sound implore its existence. A bellow of sound grooved the ground, shaking softly as the sound vibrated in the air. Repetitive soft roaring from afar breached the silence of shivering sounds of the wild.
A sudden violent boomed turned from the ongoing bellows from afar. Trees had been crushed into kindling from a thunder-quake. A large metallic machinery sits above the crushed trees. Had fallen from the skies, the shape of its body took a triangular look. At its height, many piers stood to the top. Like the nature of a spike, its height also took to the tall trees around. At the base of the machinery, the largest part, had deep engraves of metallic alloys. Golden human-like skulls were decorated among the base. Written words were on display all across the machine. As the sunlight rays gave light onto the words, the body of the machine opened in many. Revealing the skeleton of the machine and the fervent space marine.
Several more thunder shocks belched around. As more fell from the sky..
In the future we may add C++ (or DarkGDK) to our lives, but for now Darkbasic Professional is our home.
There’s a been a bit of fanboyism amongst the programming languages. Such as DB (Darkbasic) not being ‘that good,’ since C++ people (not all of them, specifically those who claim that DB isn’t that good) called DB as the girly language(?). And that C++ is a manly language.
Well, all that aside – Darkbasic (Pro) is a well suitable language to make grade A games. It does make it easier to program, but that doesn’t make it bad. It hasten the process of the game development. Instead of going through complete scratch – you have some ‘helpers.’ It uses Direct X, being a wrapper around Direct X Code. Contrary to popular belief that Darkbasic Pro is an engine, is very wrong. It’s a wrapper, as said before, that forms around Direct X. It may already have already made functions, but those are set for regular or the average Joe to code easier. But, it isn’t strictly limited to that – in DBpro, you can create your own functions. The whole point of DBpro is to create 3D games.
We’re not the only ones creating a game in DB Pro. There’s a lot of other people (tons) making their own homebrew games. Even, in Germany and Thailand have professional studios that use DB (possibly even in Korea).
It’s 11:03 PM (GMT- 7:00). And there isn’t much to say other than “there isn’t much to say.”
The birth of ApothicNow. Hopefully we won’t procrastinate and keep this wordpress active. Even if not-so-many people will be reading this (in the beginning) wordpress – other than relatively close friends we know.
Why is the title, “A Return”? Well. I thought the sudden change in complete idleness of a voiceless studio changing into a more talkative state deserves a.. Poetic sense of mind. Symbolic. Maybe.
There’s been approaches to publicly revealing our homebrewyness. But they all failed miserably. Even if there was only one attempt – one is too many. In a sense, A Return to life. Well, a second try. A return.
